Poetry is prose
bewitched,
a music made
of visual thoughts,
the sound of
an idea. — Mina Loy
Welcome to my site. I’m a poet, scholar, and new media artist. I’m excited about intersectional ideas, and I write and create participatory media art, theory, and poetry with attention to social issues and technology. Please see below for more information on my books, articles, poetry, and new media projects.
A poem as a machine?
kimchi poetry machine
The Kimchi Poetry Machine is an installation of tangible computing–aural, textual, and participatory. When viewers open the jar, they audibly hear feminist poetry and can select paper poems. Evoking a poetry reading from the future, the machine summons impressions of feminism, technology, and poetry in the digital age.
Poetry as participatory, and free. This installation of participatory poetry included a bowl of Kimchi Pocket Poems that attendees could take with them. (SOMA Arts, 2014)

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE POEM?
“Why am I compelled to write?… Because the world I create in the
writing compensates for what the real world does not give me.
By writing I put order in the world,
give it a handle
so I can grasp it. ”
— Gloria E. Anzaldúa
